Anyone who knows me knows that my first love is a good dress. Over the years, my style and preference has matured from Forever 21-type dresses to what I like to call “investment pieces”. You don’t have to spend tons of money for a high quality dress. You just have to know where and what to look for. One of my favorite brands (that I just discovered this year) is Leota.
I spotted this Leota dress in a Nordstrom feature and knew I had to have it. It’s priced at $148 but it is totally worth it. The fabric is a matte jersey that is so soft and comfortable. Honestly, it feels almost like an expensive silk. The length is great for both petite and taller girls. The ruffle drop waist hem gives a flirty vibe without sacrificing sophistication. The 3/4 sleeves make it a great transitional piece from Summer into Fall and the jewel tones also add to the versatility factor. I paired it with a bright pink cross-body and nude heels. I think it would also look great with some purple pumps!
This beautiful pattern is called Navy Prism and also comes in a maternity version as well as a plus-size version. You can find those here. The Kelsey dress, which I’m wearing, runs true to size (I’m wearing a medium, 8-10).
