Pink Lace for the First Day of Spring

Today is the first day of Spring and I’m so ready for some warm weather! I do love Winter but the freezing cold temps get old after a while. I’m ready for Spring dresses, picnics at the park, and afternoon walks with my husband and our puppy. What are your favorite outdoor activities to do in the Spring and Summer months?

Today’s look features two of my favorite things: pink lace and bows. I found this beautiful pink lace dress from ASOS US a few weeks ago. The website says it’s a prom dress but I don’t think it’s nearly that formal. This is a great dress for work, church, or any other occasion where you want to be dressed up but not overdone. It’s currently on sale for $98 and this is actually the second time it’s been available online. The first time it sold out within a week so get it while you can! I’ve linked this dress below along with some of my other favorite lace dresses.

Size & Fit

ASOS carries clothes from many different designers so there are different size charts depending on the designer. This particular dress is from Warehouse, which I’ve found runs just a tiny bit on the small side. I’m wearing a US size 10 in this dress. If you follow the size chart, a US 10 is one inch larger than my actual measurements but I always size up a bit from my measurements so my clothes aren’t unflatteringly tight. For example, if your bust measures a 36, then you’ll probably be most comfortable in something that has a 36.5 or 37 inch bust. ASOS has a great return policy so if you chose a size that ends up not fitting well, you can always return it for a full refund.

Ferragamo Emy Bow Pumps

I paired this dress with the Ferragamo Emy Bow Pumps in pink patent. You guys, these pumps are so gorgeous but they are probably the most uncomfortable pair of heels I own. I wear a size 6 in flats and tennis shoes but I always size down to a 5.5 in heels simply because I prefer a tighter fit. It’s really not cute when you’re trying to walk and your shoes are slipping off your heels. These pumps have a 100 mm (4 inch) heel and the toe box is really tight. Patent leather doesn’t stretch the way regular leather will so these will probably always be tight around your toes. I tried these in a size 6 but they were slipping off my heel and the toe box was still tight so I ended up keeping the 5.5. I wore these heels out to dinner one night and I’ve worn them to work a couple times without issue. I’m fine in them as long as I don’t have to do a lot of walking. I would never wear these shoes to a wedding, party, or any other place where I would be standing up or walking for long periods of time. I always bring a pair of flats as backup whenever I wear these shoes to work. If you love these pumps but the 100 mm heel just isn’t for you then you could try this version that has a 2.3 inch heel. Ferragamo has several beautiful bow pumps that come in different styles (platform, block heel, low heel) if this pointed-toe high heel isn’t your style.
