Transition Summer Pieces to Fall

I hope everyone had a relaxing holiday weekend. My step kids were here so we spent our time playing, watching movies, and eating too much popcorn. I always get way too excited about Labor Day weekend because it means we are that much closer to fall. Everyone sees Labor Day as the proverbial “end of summer” but it’s still so hot here in Alabama. It’s been in the 90s all week and the forecast isn’t showing signs of cooling down anytime soon. Around this time of year I try to trick myself into thinking Fall is already here. Today, I lit three pumpkin candles and event tried my first pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks. I hate to say it, but I wasn’t impressed. I think I’m too used to my peppermint latte to like anything else. Anyway, I digress.

Today’s post is about how to transition your Summer clothes into Fall-ready outfits. This Cynthia Steffe color block bow dress has been one of my favorites this summer. I love the classic black-and-white palette and everyone knows I love a well-placed bow. On it’s own, this dress is easy, lightweight, and perfect for warmer months. To carry it into the cooler season, I paired it with the Zara bow jacket. This jacket is a heavy tweed that offers warmth without being too cumbersome. It’s super comfortable and would even pair well with jeans or slacks. The jacket is sold out on Zara’s website but I found this similar one from Ann Taylor. I actually tried it on in the store last week. It’s a great quality and fits true to size. The “find your true fit” feature on the Ann Taylor website has never steered me wrong. You can also find the Zara jacket on eBay and Poshmark by searching “Zara Bow Jacket”.

For reference, the Cynthia Steffe dress fits true to size. I am wearing a size 8 and you can find my measurements here.
