Your Best Skin with Tula

When I was in my teenage and early college years, I had really good skin. Aside from the occasional small breakout, my skin was never problematic. Now that I’m almost 30, I’ve noticed my skin doesn’t have as much of a “youthful glow” as it did 10 years ago. For several years now, I have always made sure that an illuminating product is part of my everyday beauty regimen. I really love the Laura Mercier Radiance Primer. It can be worn alone or under makeup to give your skin a beautiful glow. I really love this primer as a makeup item but I wanted to find something that will actually rejuvenate my complexion so my skin will have a healthy glow on it’s own without makeup. Enter Tula. Tula is a skincare company that uses probiotics to actually heal your skin. Each day our skin is exposed to stressors such as allergens, UV rays, and even environmental pollution. Tula’s probiotic formula stimulates the production of defense cells in your body which in turn make your skin healthier and resistant to damage and aging. I have been using the Probiotic Illuminating Face Serum along with the Volume Defense Serum for 6 weeks now and I have noticed a difference in my skin. I apply both products twice daily, in the morning then in the evening right before bed.

The Illuminating Serum evens skin tone, smoothes texture, and diminishes the appearance of dark spots. It also makes my skin feel soft and hydrated. The Volume Defense Serum targets wrinkles to restore volume and elasticity. It also protects against environmental toxins that can cause premature aging and skin irritation. I noticed a glow to my skin after one use of the illuminating serum. The volume defense takes a bit longer depending on how deep your wrinkles are. With consistent daily use, I started noticing improvement after about 4 weeks.

There are so many different skin types so it’s important to find a regimen that works for you. Here are my steps for creating a custom skin care system to have your best skin ever.

1. Cleanser
A gentle, water-soluble cleanser removes debris, oil, and makeup. insing with water is not enough to clean your face. When your face is clean, it allows the other products you use to work even better, morning and evening.

2. Toner
The proper toner will smooth, soften, and calm skin, while removing the last traces of makeup. They also add vital skin-replenishing ingredients after cleansing. Toners with skin-replenishing ingredients hydrate, refresh, and revitalize the skin’s surface immediately after cleansing. They also help diminish the look of redness and dry patches.

3. Exfoliate
Environmental damage causes the surface of the skin to become dull, rough, and uneven. Exfoliating eliminates this build up, which otherwise would cause clogged pores, uneven skin tone, and worsen the appearance of fine lines and deeper wrinkles. Exfoliating gently remove built-up dead skin for smoother, noticeably renewed skin.

4. Acne Treatment (if needed)
Ifvacne is your concern, research shows that topical treatment with benzoyl peroxide is an essential step for achieving clear skin. Benzoyl peroxide kills acne-causing bacteria and helps prevent new acne.

5. Serum
Applied morning and evening, serums filled with antioxidants and other anti-aging ingredients help defend your skin from environmental assault, including visible effects of pollution.

6. Anti-Aging Moisturizer with SPF
This essential morning step keeps your skin protected from visible effects of sun damage. It must have an SPF 30 or higher rating, and offer broad-spectrum protection.

I’ve linked both the Illuminating Face Serum and the Volume Defense Serum below. I’ve also linked some of my other favorite products that help protect your skin, restore balance, and soften your complexion. What are your favorite skin and beauty products? Let me know in the comments below!

Thank you to Tula for sponsoring this post.

  2. I haven’t heard of Tula before but I definitely want to give it a try now! I am really struggling with my skin lately. I turned thirty in October and I swear I woke up on my birthday and all of a sudden my skin was different and my makeup wasn’t working the right way anymore. I’ve actually really been struggling to find a good primer too, I’m going to check out that Laura Mercier one, I’ve been loving her powder!
