One of my favorite things about this season is dressing in cozy Fall layers. Today’s outfit features a mock neck sweater dress layered under the softest and most comfortable cardigan I own.
This ribbed knit dress from Red Dress Boutique comes in three colors and is a great option for all-year wear. The thick knit fabric coupled with the mock turtleneck make this dress a warm option for layering under your favorite cardigans or sweaters. The sleeveless silhouette also makes this dress a great warm-weather option. I paired mine with my favorite burgundy cardigan also from Red Dress Boutique. Hands down, this is the best cardigan I have ever owned. The material is a soft cotton combined with rayon, which gives the garment the slightest amount of stretch. Burgundy is one of my favorite colors for Fall and I love that this cardigan can be dressed up for the office or worn just lounging around the house. This cardigan comes in SIX COLORS so think of all the different outfit combinations you can create with three different color dresses and six different color cardigans.
I paired this outfit with cognac brown accessories to complement the earth tones in the garments. An easy way to accessories for Autumn is to identify your statement color then choose a complementary color that is nearby on the color wheel. My cognac knee-high boots are from last year but you can still find them here at DSW. They also come in a wide-calf option which is available here. My bow satchel from Kate Spade is my absolute favorite handbag for Fall. It comes in two colors and is available (on sale!) here at Kate Spade. The brown bag I have is from last year and is actually a more pebbled leather than the 2017 version, which I have in the rose pink color. I definitely prefer this year’s version. It is a smoother, sturdier leather so it holds its shape better than the pebbled leather version.
Overall, I think this is a perfect outfit for Fall. I plan on wearing this to work, on movie date nights (because we all know how cold theaters are), and even just for running errands on the weekends. What is your favorite way to dress for Fall?
