Embroidered Details

One of my favorite style elements is embroidery. Pretty embroidered details can take an ordinary dress to a whole new level. These two dresses from Romwe.com are perfect for summer but will also transition beautifully into the cooler months. I am really loving the vibrant colors and intricate pattern on each dress.

This white dress features a shift silhouette with delicate bell sleeves. Shift-style dresses usually run slightly oversized so this one is true-to-size by those standards. I am usually a M-L/8-10 in dresses and I am wearing a size medium in this dress. I probably could have comfortably sized down to a small. I think this dress is perfect for work, church, and other similar events where you want to stand out but also remaining modest. I paired this pretty number with nude wedges, statement tassel earrings, and a matching Kate Spade bag (that I found at the outlet for 60% off!).

Next up is this blue striped lantern sleeve dress. This one is so fun and would be perfect for casual events like summer barbecues or Sunday brunch. I love the juxtaposition of the classic pinstripes and the vibrant embroidery details. The fit of this dress is similar to an oversized tunic. I am wearing a size small but could have sized up for some additional length. If you are taller than 5’3, you will probably need to wear this as a tunic with shorts or jeans underneath.

  1. I recently read a whole book on Chikankari – an age old embroidery that is traditionally done white on white and which I find is one of the most delicate and elegant form of embroidery.

  2. I simply love both the dresses.. the embroidered detailing on them accentuate the beauty so much. By the way, you are looking so gorgeous!

  3. You look great in the dress, it suits you well and the embroidered detail makes the dress all the more special. I used to enjoy doing embroidery, however over the years I ended up too busy with other things. I think it would make a lovely small hobby for me. 🙂

  4. Great outfit! I particularly like it in white, because it really pops:) I couldn’t pull it off, but you definitely do:) thanks for sharing!

  5. You had me sold at embroidery! Seriously, if you looked in my closet, that’s what you would see. I think this is such a great summer dress! Plus, it could easily be transitioned into fall, because of it’s sleeves! Such a cute little number.

    xoxo Bryanna
