If you’ve been following my blog for a while now, you probably already know that Kate Spade New York is one of my favorite brands. Back in October, I got to play dress up with stylist Jesseka at my local Kate Spade boutique (read more about the event here). This blush pink tweed bow coat was at the very top of my list. I had my eye on this coat since September and it was the very first outfit Jesseka had chosen for me. Needless to say, it was love at first sight!
I love the feminine blush hue on the sixties-inspired silhouette. The luxe velvet bow brings it all together and gives a Chanel-meets-Audrey Hepburn-vibe. As you can see from the product photo, this coat features bracelet sleeves, which just so happen to fit perfectly as long sleeves on my 5’1 frame. No hemming necessary! This coat is warm enough for the colder months but would also be perfect for early Spring. If rose pink isn’t your color, this coat also comes in classic black, making it a true wardrobe staple.
sizing and fit
I own several Kate Spade coats and I wear a size 6 in every style. I am a normal size 8-10 so KS coats run slightly big, in my opinion. If this is your first KS purchase, I would definitely recommend visiting your local boutique to find your best fit. Their stylists are always so helpful and truly love helping you shop! My second favorite item Jesseka picked for me was this gorgeous pair of pearl lace-up pumps. I was so smitten with the vintage rose color but I already have several pumps in blush/nude suede so I didn’t buy them that day. The more I thought about it, the more I wanted the black suede because I don’t have any shoes like these and those pearls are just too perfect to pass up! I also thought the black pumps would pair beautifully with the black bow on the coat. I added pearl bauble earrings and my favorite classic black handbag, the Kate Spade Hayden, as the final accessories to bring the whole outfit together.
one more thing…
Even though the coat is the real show-stopper, I want take a few moments to tell you about my dress. I recently “rediscovered” Express after I had not shopped there in probably ten years. I didn’t realize they had so many great pieces at reasonable price points. This mock neck dress is so soft and comfortable. I love the fun ruffle hem that adds a touch of whimsy. I am wearing the petite but it also comes in “regular” length here. Express is currently having a 40% OFF EVERYTHING sale in stores and online this weekend so it’s a great opportunity to stock up on some winter staples! Also, don’t forget to check out the Sales! tab for all the great Veteran’s Day sales happening this weekend!
