We are halfway through the work week, friends! I was going to wait until Friday to post this outfit but this darling bow sweater is almost sold out. We all know I can’t say no to a great bow and this sweater is no exception. It’s thick and warm so it’s perfect for layering as we get into the colder months of winter. I am wearing a medium and it’s still stretchy so I would recommend sizing down.

I paired with my all-time favorite skirt from Loft. The herringbone pattern and the slightly ruffled edge gives this skirt a feminine, flirty vibe that is still office appropriate. This skirt comes in regular and petite lengths. If you are a petite fit but your size is sold out, you can order the regular fit then just roll the waist under one time. I am wearing a size medium regular with the waistband folded under.

To really bring this outfit together, I added some sleek over-the-knee boots and fun bauble earrings. I found these boots at my local DSW this past weekend and I am very pleased with them. Most over-the-knee boots have a shaft height of 23 inches but this is just too long on my 5’1 frame. These have a 20 inch shaft height so they’re just right. They also have a tie in the back so you can wear them as loose or as tight as you need. I did have a hard time getting them to stay up when tied in the back. My trick is to actually wrap the strings around and tie a tight double knot in the front. Not only does this give a tighter fit but it also makes a subtle bow tie tassel to hang from the front of the boot.

A couple weeks ago my husband convinced me to have an eye exam (it had been over a decade since my last eye exam). Turns out I have astigmatism in both eyes and I’m farsighted so I have to wear glasses all the time now. I plan on trying contacts in January but for now I’m just getting used to wearing glasses for the first time. It felt sort of strange to shoot photos in glasses but I wanted to do it and share with all of you because this is me now 🙂

Comments

  1. Loving this look! Totally agree on that flippy LOFT skirt, it’s a winner on any body type. I am tall and curvy and love it, my lithe best friend loves it and so does my petite coworker! Also drooling over your OTK boots.

  2. The different shades of gray look great on you, and you’re rocking those glasses, girlfriend! I’ve been wearing my everyday glasses in all my posts recently and it’s funny how often I get compliments on them. I’m like “thanks guys, it’s great to know you think I look cute in something that just helps me see” haha!
